The Emile Garcin Deauville agency has a new rental service, supervised by Virginie Baron, offering a variety of flats and luxury properties, for week-end, holiday or year-long rentals on the Cote Fleurie (Cabourg to Honfleur) and, of course, the Pays d’Auge. In the current economic crisis, owners who don’t want to undersell would rather offer their properties for rent as they await the upturn, a development which pleases prospective buyers who feel that the housing market is still too high. Because Deauville is only two hours away from Paris, there is a lot of demand, 90% of which is French. English, Belgian, Dutch, Irish and Russian nationals round up the roster of clients. The agency puts a high premium on quality homes, many of which face the waterfront. It’s also in the process of developing additional services, such as catering, gardening, babysitting and housecleaning.
