Elisabetta Arno
founder, Casa d’Arno
“I started Casa d’Arno, a rental agency that handles properties across Italy, after renting out my own apartment in Venice 15 years ago and discovering that my friends also wished to rent out their houses. I wanted to maintain a feeling of personal hospitality. The other aspect that I emphasize is the importance of tailored advice. Having been born in Italy, I know the country well and so, for instance, I don’t recommend the Amalfi Coast to families with young children because of the lack of beaches. Knowing our clients’ tastes and expectations is key to organizing great vacations. Our properties range from 500 to 50 000 euros/week, but each has its own unique flavor. We also work with bed & breakfasts for shorter stays. Italy is becoming an increasingly popular destination and today’s visitors want to explore. So we offer a lot of extras like wine-tasting in Tuscany, cooking classes, a trip from Florence to Rome in a Ferrari, a city tour by Vespa, opera tickets in Verona or a day at the spa.”
